Saw this State Bicycle co. Black Label last night and it's making me want a fixed gear as a second bike...you know for cadence training...yeah totally, that's the reason.

why do the fixies sit SO stinkbug? face down/ass up, thats the way i like to...pedal.

thats a good looking one, though...

Because they're based on track frames which adept an aerodynamic position. I would put bull horn bars if I got one.

i rode a friends while in nashville. it wasn't bad, but going downhill i was wishing for another gear, or at least some coasting. when i rode bmx i grenaded a wheel hub & stuffed it with rocks to make it a fixie so i didn't DQ.

Tasty. Almost looks like Polestar blue as well, which is obviously a good thing.

The stem is terrible though. Stems should be at least horizontal and slammed to be aesthetically pleasing. I do like the big ring on it, most fixies have small rings for feeble people

Your question is akin to asking why a track prepped e30 sits soo low and why it rides so harsh. It's because comfort makes you weak and slow.

lol, my question was akin to asking why stanced cars aren't as fast as racecars. i knew the answer, i just wanted to hear it in someone elses words.

Big ring + big rear cog= looking cool while not killing you.

That, and the same gear ratios are easier to pedal because of the curving chain tension. Nice looking bike, but it doesn't look comfortable.

This is my commuter, Jamis Beatnik. Minus the rear brake though.

Well you can change out for some deda RHM01 drop bars for about $20 which would be MUCH more comfortable. Also you can get some breaks that have hoods like road bike shifters from crane creek for like $30 which will make it even more comfortable.
